Minimum Wage going up again!

By Karol Oviedo

This year, July 1, 2023, the minimum wage will increase to $9.50 for all employees covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act (Ley Federal de Normas Razonables del Trabajo).

And then increases to $10.50 effective by July 1, 2024 (unless the Minimum Wage Evaluation Commission issues a mandatory decree saying otherwise).

The minimum wage requirements do not apply to:

  • Agriculture employees
  • Government agency employees: instrumentalities, municipalities, Judicial Branch and Legislative Branch
  • “Administrators”, “Executives” and “Professionals”
